Peter Copley

Biografi

Peter Copley (20 maj 1915, 7 oktober 2008) var en engelsk tv-, film- och scenskådespelare. Copley föddes i Bushey, Hertfordshire, son till tryckerierna John Copley och Ethel Gabain. Efter att ha ändrat uppfattning om att gå med i Royal Navy, studerade han vid Old Vic School och började som scenskådespelare 1932. Han gjorde sitt första filmframträdande 1934, och fortsatte med att spela en mängd olika karaktärer från skurkaktiga till ödmjuka och milda. 1946 framträdde han på scenen i "Cyrano de Bergerac" på New Theatre i London. 1951 medverkade han på Duchess Theatre i Londons West End i komedispelet The Happy Family av Michael Clayton Hutton. TV-krediter inkluderar: Thorndyke, Danger Man, The Saint, The Avengers, The Forsyte Saga, The Troubleshooters, The Champions, Department S, Doomwatch, Z-Cars, Fall of Eagles, Survivors, Bless Me, Father (avsnitt "A Legend Comes to Stay"), Father Brown (avsnitt "The Curse of the Golden" (inom The Curse of the Golden) Mars"), Sutherlands lag, Tales of the Unexpected, Miss Marple (avsnitt "Nemesis"), Lovejoy, The Bill, Cadfael, The Diamond Brothers: South by South East och One Foot in the Grave. Copley fortsatte att agera långt in på nittiotalet. Copley, bosatt i Bristol, tilldelades en hedersexamen i Master of Arts av University of West of England 2001.
