Five guys spent their time in prison. Some of them even for murder. Now they want to run a restaurant called Amigo's. But not everything goes how it was supposed to go.
After 15 years in prison, Rik is finally released from prison, ready to realize his dream: opening restaurant 'Amigo's' together with four other ex-convicts and living life as honest people.
Restaurant Amigo's opens its doors tonight and the nerves are on edge. Rik discovers that his meat supplier is trying to cheat them and he gives the man a beating. But he is arrested by the police together with sous chef Halil. Dylan and Mathieu have now rustled up a batch of second-hand chairs for the restaurant.
Ex-car thief Dylan visits his father's car showroom. Instead of the hoped-for reconciliation, his father asks him to threaten the manager of a competing company.
Mathieu absolutely wants to buy a spectacular communion gift for his son and disappears to the casino with the entire contents of the cash register. After the incident with Tito, Rik decides that 'Amigo's' is not an environment for his daughter.
Tessa hears that 'Ter Hoyen' star chef Laurens has definitively chosen his business and his family, so she seeks comfort in her own wine cellar. Cathy is very grateful to Dylan for his valuable tip, but Dylan discovers that she has her own agenda.
Rik lets Tessa know that she doesn't have to work tonight. Under no circumstances should she find out that the amigos are going to rob a police depot that night. There they have to retrieve the drugs from Kerkhoffs in exchange for Berten's life.
It is Sunday at 'Amigo's' and Lucien Goedertier unexpectedly enters the restaurant. He realizes who robbed the police depot a week earlier and makes the amigos present an offer that they cannot possibly refuse.
The amigos try to live together as best they can with the illegal immigrants who have been parked by Kerkhoffs at the restaurant. Berten suffers from the break with Machteld and shows the teenage girl Jissy the ropes in the vegetable garden.
Berten is proud when he can let Rik taste his first harvest. Then an angry Kerkhoffs appears with his accomplices. His girlfriend Elena and her son Stephan have disappeared. The amigos have no idea where the two are.
Kerkhoffs demands that Rik bring Elena and Stephan back to him in exchange for the life of the kidnapped Tessa. But Rik has put Elena and her son on a boat to England and cannot possibly give Kerkhoffs what he wants.
